Design, development and qualification of heat exchangers for aerospace application or for other industrial fields where very high reliability and functioning in harsh environment is required. These technologies allow to cool, heat and in general control the temperature of electronic or other systems needing temperature control. These heat exchangers have been used for scientific experiments on board of the International Space Station as well as for space transportation systems. This technology can be used also in terrestrial application where it is needed to have very high reliability in harsh environments.

These heat exchangers have been used for scientific experiments on board of the International Space Station as well as for space transportation systems. This product can be used also in terrestrial application where it is needed to have very high reliability in harsh environments. Qualifications have been performed in order to meet the stringent requirements of aerospace missions, both for man-on-board and without man-on-board applications.

Heat Exchanger for aerospace and high-reliability fields

Application description and results

DTM H/X have been used on the International Space Station for temperature control of the Electro Magnetic Levitator (EML) facility. EML is a complex facility for the study of materials undergoing cooling from very high temperature. The H/X have been realized together with a liquid management system to allow the cooling of the furnace as well as electronic equipments. DTM has been also responsible for the whole thermal design.
